Bacon + Chocolate = Awesome

Today my boss introduced me to the wonder that is bacon chocolate. If you just gagged a little, I can excuse that. But you should try it. It's weird. It's good. Enough said.

The particular brand I had was Vosges. But you can acquire bacon + chocolate through many other venues. Mmmmmmhmmmm.

Victory Garden

Over the weekend (and spilling over into this week), my hubby built a sweet new planter to house some veggies and herbs. The actual construction of the bed took a few hours. The laborious part was making it level and filling it with dirt. According to the plant labels and seed packets, I will be chowing down on some strawberries, carrots, green beans, eggplant and various herbs in 50-60 days. While my garden is still germinating, check out these links for some info on victory gardens:

Definition:
Victory gardens, also called war gardens or food gardens for defense, were vegetable, fruit and herb gardens planted at private residences in the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom during World War I and World War II to reduce the pressure on the public food supply brought on by the war.

Today, victory gardens are being revived as a way to promote sustainability and provide inexpensive and healthy food.
